We are saddened to hear that NZPA life member Bruce McKelvie (known as BJ) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 30th, 2022, aged 68 years.

BJ was a big supporter of polo in New Zealand and was on the NZPA committee for 30 odd years, he was President of NZPA from 2012 – 2014.

BJ was a successful player in his time playing on a 5 handicap for many years. He played for Rangitikei in three Savile finals. He won the NZ Open High Goal in 1983 and won the Wilson Cup in 1978 and 1980. He also won the Stead Cup in 1979 and Senior Handicap Cup in 1983 and 1986. He also played in England.

We would like to pass on our condolences to Jennie, Sarah, James, Rochelle and his 4 grandchildren. Donations in lieu of flowers to Arohanui Hospice would be appreciated or may be left in the chapel foyer. Friends are invited to attend a service for Bruce at the Feilding Funeral Chapel, 282 Kimbolton Road, Feilding, on Friday, November 4th, 2022, at 2.30pm, followed by private cremation.
